Drakes Hotel, Brighton
A unique design led 20-bedroom hotel on Brighton’s seafront voted as one of the top 50 new boutique hotels in the world. The project involved the renovation and recovery of a pair of particularly fine Grade Two listed bow-fronted Regency buildings originally built as elegant period residences.
The properties had been clumsily combined several decades ago, resulting in an ad-hoc 29-room hotel. Our brief was to recover the lost elegance of the buildings and by complimenting the historical fabric of the building with modern elements a new hotel style was created. The end result was the reinvention of the typical UK seaside B&B product.
