Glebe Clearing
A local project which allows the Practice to develop further its interest in sustainable new buildings.  The site currently consists of two derelict bungalows each with gardens, and after evaluation of the property, a scheme of six terraced three-bedroom houses are to be accommodated.

The scheme addresses a realistic and attainable approach to sustainability within its base design and further operation-in-use criteria.  The houses will be highly insulated and use south facing glazing to harness energy from the sun.

Other energy conserving features include photo voltaic cells on the south facing roof, whole house ventilation systems, ground source heat pumps and wood burning stoves for space and water heating. The sustainability items are designed into the fabric of the scheme and the technology will be integrated into the structures and underground.
